The Sealion 7 is the first SUV under BYD’s ‘Ocean Series’, designed with new aesthetics, advanced technologies, and enhanced performance capabilities. The company is preparing to officially unveil the vehicle in Nepal soon. It is expected to directly compete with other electric SUVs available in the Nepali market, particularly the Deepal S07 and Mahindra BE 6.
The Sealion 7 will be available in two variants—‘Premium RWD’ and ‘Performance AWD’. The Performance model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and features a 390 kW motor with 690 Nm torque, ensuring high-level performance.
The vehicle is packed with premium, high-tech features including a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system, wireless charging, tri-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, AR head-up display, Nappa leather seats, and heated & ventilated seats for both front and rear passengers. Additionally, it features an Intelligent Cockpit System, Adaptive Suspension, and a 360-degree camera system for enhanced safety and comfort.
The Sealion 7 also offers appealing color options: Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, Cosmos Black, and Shark Grey—highlighting its focus on premium aesthetics and design. BYD is offering an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, and a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty. Early buyers will also receive a package including insurance and roadside assistance.
In India, the starting price of the BYD Sealion 7 is set at ₹48.90 lakh (approx. NPR 7.8 million). The official price for the Nepali market has not yet been announced, but sources estimate it to fall between NPR 7 to 8.5 million. The official pricing and sales launch are expected soon.
With its advanced performance, cutting-edge features, and bold design, the BYD Sealion 7 is anticipated to shake up Nepal’s premium EV segment and strongly compete with models like the Deepal S07 and Mahindra BE 6.
